Textile × Design Exchange ▞ Creating Deeper Connections Between Sustainable Textiles and Design Innovation ▞
Taipei Fashion Week is moving beyond the runway, toward resource exchange and value co-creation within the fashion industry. We hope to become an important platform connecting design with the textile supply chain.
At today’s Textile × Design Exchange, we invited four textile companies with distinct expertise in sustainable fabrics — Shinkong Textile, U-Long High-Tech Textile, Cheng Jia Science Textile, and Fu-Chou Fiber — to engage in on-site exchanges with more than 20 fashion design brands.

In response to past challenges, such as fabric mills finding it difficult to accommodate designers’ small-quantity needs or the cost pressure of customized development, the four participating textile companies presented sustainable functional fabrics already in mass production, along with more flexible solutions. Through this, they look forward to opening up more possibilities for collaboration with designers.

From functional knits to polyester filament yarns, from pineapple leaf fiber to eco-friendly regenerated yarn made with oyster shells, this exchange revealed how the textile industry is weaving a sustainable future through technology and material regeneration. We also look forward to seeing the integration of sustainable textiles and design expertise not only create market-ready value, but also bring greater social impact to the industry ecosystem.
