Held in conjunction with the Taipei Fashion Week Trade Show, this forum is organized by the Taiwanese design brand C JEAN. The initiative aims to establish a high-level platform for cross-border cultural and business dialogue between Taiwan and Japan.
The forum features senior artisans from the renowned Kyoto-based wax-resist dyeing workshop SHOBIEN—Hiroyuki Kanbayashi and Yosuke Kanbayashi—in conversation with ChunYuan Jean, founder and creative director of C JEAN. The discussion will focus on the contemporary interpretation of traditional Japanese dyeing techniques—a heritage spanning over 1,200 years—and explore the aesthetics of "uncertainty" inherent in the artisanal process.
This session will also welcome key corporate representatives from both Taiwan and Japan. By fostering meaningful exchange among artisans, designers, and industry leaders, the forum seeks to deepen bilateral collaboration and facilitate the strategic entry of traditional craftsmanship into the international luxury market, advancing both cultural diplomacy and industrial synergy.
