In 2023, Taipei Fashion Week again gathers a group of outstanding Taiwan textile companies, and matchmakes them with Taiwan designer brands; by taking the advantage of global unique functional textiles to deliver a joint interpretation of the core idea of “sustainable function fashion”. There are six teams of in total, bothdesigners and textile companies work together to develop and create 12 garments. This collaboration enables each part of the fashion industry chain in Taiwan to support each other and focus on the global market.
DYCTEAM utilizes many types of sustainable fabrics, such as unique “denim jacquard”and “functional materials”, to create a dressing style with both practicality and design quality via the observation of daily life. It brings more convenience and humanity to life. DYCTEAM adds colors into its simple and sleek cutting silhouette, and people are able to appreciate both the brand philosophy of simplicity and human touches for the future.
oqLiq chooses thick and stiff fabrics to manifest the design, and the structure of the garments is a symmetry of square and circle. In addition, it harmonizes the high color saturation and the color of black, and converts 3D jacquard fabrics and plain functional fabrics by stiching them together. The aesthetics of oqLiq combines both the concepts of Asian simplicity and street fashion, and by taking advantage of the advanced development of Taiwan textiles in global fashion supply chain, oqLiq redefines the outdoor functional clothing.
PCES utilizes CRZ fabrics, which is a special material made from the leftover cutting materials from sewing factories, waste cloth or old clothes. All of them are recycled and become reproduced yarns, and eventually transforms into fabrics. PCES’ expertise is to fully utilize sustainable function fabrics, and with CRZ fabrics, PCES manages to create a collection of sustainable function fashion with style and multi-wearable function. The design concentrates on the multi-wearability and matchability of each garment to maximize the matching options with minimum items.
The main material of the garments is an eco-friendly sandwhich mesh fabric, which its origin is from recycled yarns instead of petroleum in order to decrease carbon footprint. In addition, T/S skin dry stretch twist two-colored double jersey is the other material that brings delicate color and texture for the garments. Combining with SYZYGY’s expertise of structuring fabrics, unique design of knitting clothes, and excellent silhouette cutting technique; it manifests a fashion of“one garment with many looks”.
The collaboration begins with the application of various sustainable fabrics made from recycled wastes of land and ocean and aqueous nylon. UUIN chooses functional fabrics developed in Taiwan, with its solid and refined crafts of sewing sequence and pattern making, and brand philosophy of “life is art”to deliver products with unique aesthetics of locial life and devote to manifest the possibility of the coexistence of function and fashion.
Each glamorous merchandise will eventually face elimination, bury and incineration; however, there is a possibility of recycle and reuse. It shares the association of carrion beetles, therefore, the center of the collection begins with this incest, the silhouette of acarrion beetle blends in the pattern of each garment, which delivers thefunctionalization of incests by manfesting the lines and cuttings. By applying the eco-friendly fabrics of Everest Textile which are made from recycled PET bottles andrecycled cotton made from the leftover materials from recycle factories, WEAVISM manages to form and shape joints and wings of incests, and minimize theuse of fossil fuel products in each process of production in order to reduce the crisis of global warming.
